Data Scientist, Product Discovery (USA)

We are looking for a data scientist for our product discovery team, based in San Francisco. This team is responsible for (a) conducting user research to discover key problems faced by nonprofits, followed by (b) rapidly prototyping and iterating on potential solutions, with the goal of figuring out “what works”, and is worth productionizing. The team includes PhD level data scientists, and access to a very unique set of sector-specific data. The role reports to the Head of Product.

Need to haves:

  • Fluency in Python (pandas/scikit-learn) and SQL
  • Demonstrable track record of having built stuff (personal/non-tech projects welcome) at hackathons, MVPs etc
  • Desire and ability to closely align technical outcomes with customer/business value
  • Desire and ability to participate in customer-facing research
  • Located in the SF Bay Area

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working at a startup
  • Experience with AWS (EC2, Batch, Lambda, S3, Athena) and DuckDB
  • Bachelor’s/Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
