Why We're Partnering with Bloomerang

Tim Paris

Prediction is a basic requirement—what matters is putting the next best donor actions on Monday’s first screen.
Every fundraiser asks the same question at the start of the week: what should I do next?
It's a simple question. The answer is almost never simple. The donor data is there. It's just spread across reports, exports, and someone's saved view from last quarter. By the time a team reaches a decision, the week is half over.
Today we're announcing a partnership with Bloomerang to fix that. Starting July 1, 2026, Bloomerang customers will be able to add Dataro inside the Bloomerang Giving Platform. Fundraisers will see, on the donor record, who's about to lapse, who's ready to give now, who could become a monthly supporter, and who's ready to step up to mid-level or major giving—along with recommended next steps. No separate login. No exports. No spreadsheets.
I want to share why we chose Bloomerang, and why I think this partnership matters for the future of fundraising.
What we believe about the future of fundraising
We've built Dataro around a few beliefs. They've held up across every campaign, every customer, every sector we've worked in.
Prediction is baseline now. It used to be a competitive edge to know which donors were likely to give. That's table stakes. What matters is acting on what a donor is likely to do next — not just reporting on what they did last quarter. The teams winning today aren't the ones with the best model. They're the ones who can act on the model fastest, inside the workflow they already use.
In other words: act on what a donor is going to do next, not just what they did in the past.
Precision is the strategy. "Hit everyone" is expensive. It burns budget, fatigues donors, and hides the donors who actually matter this week. The teams I admire are doing more with less by being more selective, not more aggressive.
Fundraisers can't be replaced. Judgment, donor trust, the call you make about how to ask — none of that should be outsourced to a model. What should be replaced is the spreadsheet triage, the manual list rebuilding, and the guesswork that fills the gap when data is hard to use.
De-risk every decision. Fundraising is too important to bet the year on a hunch. Good tools should make the safer choice the easier choice, with clear logic the team can defend internally.
The throughline is simple. Nonprofits need a decision layer. Not more dashboards. Not more reports. A system that turns the data they already have into a clear, ranked answer to "who do I call today?"
Why Bloomerang
We chose Bloomerang for three reasons.
They're built for purpose. More than 24,000 nonprofits trust Bloomerang to manage fundraising, supporters, and volunteers in one place. Bloomerang is not a generic CRM with a nonprofit module bolted on. It was designed for this work, by people who care about it.
Their customers already perform. Bloomerang customers record average one-time gifts of $166 — 37% larger than the industry norm. That's not luck. That's a platform doing its job. Our predictive models will compound that advantage.
They wanted prediction embedded, not bolted on. A lot of partnerships end at the API. Logos go up, links go out, and the customer is left to glue it all together. Dennis Fois and the Bloomerang team wanted Dataro's predictions to live where fundraisers already work — on the donor record itself, alongside the next action. That's the version of this integration that actually changes how Monday morning feels.
And it's a scale play. It's our mission to help nonprofits raise more and make a bigger impact. This is the fastest, most direct path for us to support thousands of nonprofits with better decisions—and help unlock substantially more funding for the causes that matter.
What this means for fundraisers
If you're a fundraiser on Bloomerang, here's what changes starting July 1 (for teams who choose to add Dataro inside Bloomerang).
Open a donor record. The signals are there:
Lapse risk this month, with timing for outreach
Readiness to give now, with a suggested amount and channel
One-time donors who fit a monthly upgrade
Donors ready to move to mid-level
Donors ready for a major gift conversation
And alongside those signals: recommended actions to take next, so Monday morning starts with a ranked list of who to contact and what to do.
And when that “major gift conversation” shows up, you can go straight from decision to preparation: one-click prospect research that pulls together capacity, affinity, and recent news so you walk into the ask with context — not guesswork.
From there, you can trigger outreach and build a campaign without leaving Bloomerang. The decision and the action live in the same place. That's the point.
Where we go from here
The future of fundraising belongs to teams that turn donor insight into donor action — and to the tools that help them do it without adding another login, another export, or another spreadsheet.
We're proud to be building that future with Bloomerang.
If you're a Bloomerang customer and want to be part of the first wave, visit dataro.io/bloomerang for an interactive demo. If you're a fundraiser elsewhere, we'd still love to talk. The Monday morning question is the same everywhere.
